NUNAVUT — Toronto-based Starfield Resources has found a diamond in a till sample taken from the centre of its claim block at Ferguson Lake. Samples were collected during the 2005 and 2006 field seasons but not processed until a mineralogical study was done this year.

"It is rare to find an actual diamond in a till sample," added André Douchane, president and CEO. "We absolutely need to follow up on this discovery."

Preliminary mineralogical studies have been completed on roughly 12% of the samples, and encouraging results have been obtained in two of the samples. Sample TDS5-125 contained a significant number of indicator garnet grains, while sample TDS5-126 contained the small diamond consistent with a screen size of –35 to +60 microns. The diamond was not scratched or broken, which may indicate the source is nearby.

Starfield also operates an advanced base and precious metals project at Ferguson Lake. Visit www.Starfields.com to learn more.
