ONTARIO The NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO PROSPECTORS ASSOCIATION has selected the Hercules project of Vancouver's KODIAK EXPLORATION as the "discovery of the year". The Bernie Schnieders award recognizes an outstanding local discovery made during the previous year.

Kodiak's Hercules project is located in the Beardmore-Geraldton gold camp in the central part of the province. The company has exposed more than 5.0 km of gold-mineralized quartz veins by trenching, and the find remains open in all directions. High-grade shoots in the centre of the Golden Mile zone returned 54.0 g/t Au over 2.0 metres in previous drilling. A 60,000-metre drill program is now underway.

Kodiak's president Bill Chornobay accepted the award, saying, "We regard ourselves as successful only when we are valued by the communities in which we work. Northwestern Ontario is an excellent place to do business." He also expressed thanks to Ontario Geological Service, the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, the Municipality of Greenstone, the local First Nations and the outfitters, suppliers, prospectors and other stakeholders in the area for their ongoing support.

Go to www.KodiakExp.com and look at the photos from the Hercules project. One shows visible gold in a drill core that assayed 358.6 g/t Au over 3.6 metres, including 516.0 g/t Au over 2.5 metres.
