Put on your thinking caps. In the new year we are launching a contest to determine the Best Mine Manager in Canada during 2002. The last time we ran this contest was in 1999, and the winner was Gary Halverson, who was then the manager of the New Britannia gold mine in Snow Lake, Man. Stay tuned for more information early in 2003.
The Mine Site Accommodations Contest closed on Sept. 30 with nary an entry. We were looking for the most liveable remote mining camp in Canada. Perhaps no one is working in such a place, or perhaps we did not publicize it well enough. There were bragging rights at stake, but no one seems to be bragging.
