SASKATOON – Global demand for PapaBravo Innovation’s expanded product lines have spurred a move to a new 3,160 m2 factory to make electric mining vehicles. The eco-friendly line of vehicles was launched in October of 2011.

Overwhelming acceptance of PapaBravo’s new technology in the mining environment and the addition of two new product lines have resulted in rapid growth driving the expansion. The new factory in Saskatoon, SK, will become home to PapaBravo’s state of the art manufacturing and its R&D divisions.

The two new innovative product lines include a four-wheel drive, half-tonne truck suitable for both shaft and ramp access mines and a larger, heavy hauling platform available up to 23 tonnes that will cover a wide range of specialty applications. The half-tonne electric vehicle can be equipped with an open cab or an enclosed cab with heating and cooling make this vehicle suitable for nearly any underground environment. The 23-tonne unit is geared to replace large, heavy diesel equipment in all underground mines. With the ability to mix and match, this product can be utilized from a five-tonne to a 23-tonne and can be configured for almost any underground purpose.

All of the electric vehicles from PapaBravo are designed to outperform their diesel counterparts. The electric vehicles can travel 120 km on a single charge and can recharge in as little as an hour over a lunch break or crew change, utilizing typical mine electrical grids.
