VANCOUVER, British Columbia TRUE NORTH GEMS has wrapped up its $2.1-million exploration effort and sent a 210-kg emerald-containing sample to its lab in Vancouver for processing. The sample comes from True North's Regal Ridge project, which may become Canada's first commercial emerald mine, in the Northwest Territories. The gem, near-gem and non-gem material recovered will be sold at auction in January 2004.

Three new emerald zones were discovered this summer at Regal Ridge; a total of 13 zones have been identified. The size of the emerald mineralization has doubled to an area 1,500-m long by 500-m wide and at least 200-m deep. Learn more about emeralds at www.truenorthgems.com.
