ONTARIO The Energy Committee of the ONTARIO MINING ASSOCIATION (OMA) is planning a workshop for Sept. 23-24, 2008 in Thunder Bay. The conference is intended to assist mining operations in improving energy efficiency and conservation efforts. The agenda is aimed at general foremen, electrical supervisors, maintenance personnel, electrical engineers, energy co-ordinators, and all mining staff working in the energy management field.

Speakers will present information on new energy technologies, best practices, government policies and funding programs, and more. Delegates will be offered a tour of NORTH AMERICAN PALLADIUM's Lac des Iles mine on Sept. 23, along with a golf event and dinner, which have separate charges. The workshop begins at 7:30 am on Sept. 24 at the Victoria Inn in Thunder Bay.

The OMA has set the cost of the workshop at $50, which includes breakfast and lunch on Sept. 24 and all conference materials. The Victoria Inn (www.VicInn.com) is providing discounted room rates for reservations made before Sept. 3. Please quote the workshop code ID 178020 when booking.
