VANCOUVER - FINNING INTERNATIONAL, one of the world's largest Caterpillar dealers, anticipates selling $280-million-worth of mining equipment to Canada's oil sands industry in 2007. And the company continues to win multi-million-dollar contracts from miners around the world.

SUNCOR ENERGY is buying six additional Cat 797B haul trucks and an associated 10-year product support services agreement. The value of the deal is approximately $75 million.

NORTH AMERICAN ENERGY PARTNERS is taking delivery of seven 793D and four 785C haul trucks worth $32 million. The oil sands miner has placed orders for two more 793D and nine 777F haul trucks to be delivered in 2007. Those vehicles are worth a total of $19 million.

Finning has also signed a letter of intent with BHP BILLITON's Minera Escondida for the purchase of 45 Cat 797 haul trucks. Delivery to the world's largest copper producer, located in northern Chile, is to begin in early 2009. The two companies have created a long-term strategic alliance to govern the transaction.

SILVER STANDARD RESOURCES has ordered a Cat mining fleet for its Pirqitas silver project in Argentina. The transaction includes an O&K RH90 hydraulic shovel, seven Cat 777 trucks, and 10 pieces of support equipment. The supplier and miner are also negotiating a service agreement worth approximately $70 million.
