Goodyear Canada has launched two new high performance synchronous belts suitable for drive systems in mining and many other industries. The WhiteHawk and BlackHawk feature new materials designed for higher horsepower ratings and dimensional stability (meaning less retensioning or maintenance). Both incorporate the Hibrex tooth compound, which resists oils and coolants to save on replacement costs. The WhiteHawk Pd 20-mm-wide belt can replace a 30-mm belt drive system and promises considerable savings. BlackHawk Pd is said to last three times longer than other belts, which reduces downtime.
