Polyguard 4100, a synthetic open gear lubricant, can reduce downtime and scheduled maintenance while improving overall operational productivity in ore mining and ball milling applications. This is a non-asphaltic lubricant that evaporates nearly twice as fast as mineral-based products. This allows for a rapid set-up on gear teeth forming a protective shear high-strength coating, which helps prevent metal loss. It also significantly reduces volatile organic carbon (VOC) emissions.
Using Polyguard 4100 provides extreme pressure and heat protection. The lubricant has a transparent amber colour to make clean up, inspection and maintenance possible without shutting down the equipment. Cost savings are achieved by minimal lubricant consumption and reduced equipment wear. It is designed for bull and pinion gears on rod and ball mills; rack and pinion gears on shovel dipsticks; and swing and pinion gears on top of the lower frame of shovels and draglines.
