To keep dry bulk material moving, AVC Specialists has built the Hopper Hammer. It is designed to be superior to vibrators (which can cause material to compact) or the manual use of a sledgehammer (with inherent safety problems). The Hopper Hammer is an enclosed, electromechanical device that generates discrete impacts to dislodge dry material from the sides of hoppers, bins, chutes or bunkers. It is based on AVC's SR-A1 precipitator rapper used successfully since 1980.
The Hopper Hammer features variable timing and impact to ensure that equipment is not damaged and the bulk material flows easily. The intensity can be varied from 1- to 25-ft-lb. It has built-in controls to set the intensity, duration and operating intervals. Alternately, it can be integrated into existing timing systems for increased flexibility. It is easy to install, low-maintenance, and built to survive in harsh conditions. It needs no adjustment, lubrication or maintenance.
