NORTHERN QUEBEC - QUEBEC CARTIER MINING (QCM) has ordered another BUCYRUS 495 series electric mining shovel for its Mt. Wright iron mine. The new shovel will be part of the fleet that includes two other 985 series and two 295 series shovels operating at the mine.
The 495 series is the most productive electric rope shovel available today, says Bucyrus. The shovel ordered by QCM has the new SuperCab with more space for better visibility and operator comfort. The shovel will be equipped with AccessDirect, which allows a Bucyrus engineer anywhere in the world to diagnose problems using the Internet. This saves the hours and sometimes days it would take to get an engineer to a remote site and find the problem. The new QCM shovel will also be equipped with AccuLoad (to weigh each dipper load) and MIDAS (to track and record machine motions and activity).
All the specifications for the Bucyrus 495 series are available at www.Bucyrus.com.
