KIRKLAND LAKE, Ontario – Nordex Explosives has begun a new program to help clients wishing to identify potential costs savings. Results will be measured through efficiency reports prepared under the Nordex brand. The program is offered to all existing and new clients using Nordex products in blasting operations.
Nordex will be working with Dr. Calvin Konya, a 40 year veteran of the explosives industry. He is a founding member, president and first executive director of the International Society of Explosives Engineers. Konya is also a director of the Academy for Blasting and Explosives Technology and president of Precision Blasting Services. He has an impressive resume of significant achievements in blast design, education, research, legal consultation, and management. Konya has authored more than 130 technical papers, books and reports and has overseen numerous technically challenging blasting projects worldwide.
With this new initiative, Nordex has appointed Pat O'Connell to the position of manager, product and blast optimization. He will assist in the formative stages and lead implementation with clients. This initiative will include effective training of all field personnel, baseline studies, data collection, computer analysis and modelling, technical analysis, measured results and cost savings reports.
