BRITISH COLUMBIA - DRC RESOURCES of Vancouver is breaking ground next month to begin underground exploration at the Afton copper-gold property near Kamloops. The project includes development of an underground ramp as part of the $18-million feasibility study to reopen the property.

The proposed $149.7-million mine plan would rely on block caving to mine 9,000 tonnes/day. A concentrate of at least 30% Cu, 20 g/t Au, 70 g/t Ag and 2 g/t Pd would be produced. Average annual production at commercial mining rates would be 75 million lb of copper and 80,000 oz of gold.

The Afton Main zone contains measured and indicated resources of 68.7 million tonnes grading 1.956% Cu equivalent and 3.039 g/t Au equivalent. Further information and a 3-D representation of the Afton orebody are available at www.DRCresources.com.
