SURINAME Montreal-based CAMBIOR has selected WENCO's fleet management system for its Rosebel gold project in this small South American country. Cambior is counting on the system to help maximize return on its assets.
The Wenco fleet management system uses GPS to monitor and display the geographical positions of trucks, shovels and other mobile pit equipment. The software directs the movement of trucks and sets out shovel assignments to achieve production and ore quality targets. It also features automatic production, ore quality and haul cycle recording. All data are available both at the mine site and remotely through the Internet.
