Australia's Gekko, a world technical leader in gold processing and low-energy mining solutions, has announced an update to the InLine Leach Reactor (ILR), a proven technology that applies well-known principles for intensive leaching of gold or silver concentrates. The ILR was first introduced to the market in 1996 and is now providing operational benefits across more than 30 countries.

Fully optimized to mining operations, the ILR boasts consistent free gold recoveries of over 98% as well as superior recoveries of gold from complex sulphide ores. Leaching coarse (>300 micron) gravity concentrates and recycling leach solutions delivers low energy and operating costs. Rapid leach kinetics and an automated system provide fast recovery.

In place of open shaking tables that are prone to theft, the enclosed ILR has lockable access points to protect against theft losses and reduce manual handling. The ILR can be easily retrofitted to any grinding circuit. The modular, small footprint design requires minimal space for integration. The ILR’s chemical handling is automated and important leach parameters are electronically controlled, making operations faster and safer. Tailings generated are smaller and can be coupled with the detoxification of cyanide, which protects the environment.

ILR updates

The new and improved software and hardware updates are a result of the work undertaken by the Gekko design and automation teams in conjunction with the feedback received from sites.

Updated features include the following:

  • Recirculation line automatic flushing system;
  • Pipes, automatic valve and flowmeter;
  • PLC program update;
  • Actuated dump valve on discharge hopper;
  • Improved process optimization to run the ILR;
  • Robust sequencing with more detailed settings and options;
  • Remote support options;
  • Options for enhanced analytics, parts wear tracking and automated batch reports;
  • Additional equipment tags are available and visible on the DCS/SCADA system.

All current models of the ILR run the newest updates. Click here to learn more.
