BRITISH COLUMBIA - Vancouver-based CROSS LAKE MINERALS has received a recommendation for reopening the QR gold mine near Quesnel. The independent report suggests that the Northwest, Midwest and West zones be developed. Cross Lake has solicited bids from interested contractors for mine development and commissioning the mill and other facilities.

The underground workings are being dewatered so that Cross Lake can conduct geological mapping and sampling. An underground diamond drilling project is planned so that a resource calculation can be made of the Midwest zone extension below developed areas. Core from the Midwest zone recently returned values as high as 9.0 g/t Au over 10.04 metres. Surface diamond drilling is continuing on the North zone, the largest mineralized zone on the property. More results are available at www.CrossLakeMinerals.com.

Cross Lake has earned a 100% in the QR mine from KINROSS GOLD. Kinross operated the mine from May 1995 to March 1998, then put the property on care and maintenance. The mine site has an 800-tonnes/day mill with a CIP recovery circuit.
