QUEBEC - Assays from five of eight recent drillholes at its 100%-owned Clearwater project north of Chibougamau returned values of over 30 g/t Au, says EASTMAIN RESOURCES of Toronto. The average grade of veins intersected in current drilling is 10.4 g/t over 2.17 metres. Moreover, the presence of high-grade, visible-gold-bearing quartz-tourmaline veins has been confirmed from surface to below 600 metres.

Work on the Eau Claire vein system at Clearwater is the most advanced. Indicated and inferred resources are estimated to be 1.1 million tonnes grading 8.18 g/t Au or 755,000 contained ounces. Eastmain plans to bulk sample three high-grade veins in the system. Future in-fill drilling is required to confirm the potential mine grade of the deposit and to upgrade gold resources to gold reserves, says the company.

Eastmain is also searching for a second vein system at the Clearwater project. More details are available at www.eastmain.com, or contact exploration manager Catherine Butella at 519-940-4871.
