QUEBEC - Toronto-based IAMGOLD CORP. has results in hand from 12 holes of its Westwood underground exploration program, drilled from its Doyon gold mine near Rouyn-Noranda. The company says the results confirm the existence of three mineralized zones on the western side of the Bousquet Fault. News of the discoveries was first made in January 2007.

The new assays came from 12,500 m of drilling conducted from January to May. Highlights from the new zones include an intersection of 4.0 m averaging 38.1 g/t Au and a 1.0-m intersection averaging 102.3 g/t Au plus another 1.0-m section averaging 6.7% Zn.

IamGold has committed over US$5.0 million for its 2007 exploration program, which will include a total of 25,000 m of drilling and a 1,000-m advance of the exploration drift. Detailed drilling results, longitudinal sections and a plan of the new zone at the Westwood project, are available at www.IamGold.com.
