ONTARIO - Drilling at the Newman Todd property in the Red Lake Gold Camp has returned results as high as 343.0 g/t Au over 0.6 metres, reports Confederation Minerals of Toronto. Confederation can earn up to a 70% interest in the property owned by Redstar Gold of Vancouver by completing a preliminary economic assessment.

Confederation noted that it completed 19,000 metres of drilling this year, focusing on the Newman Todd structure over a strike length of 1.6 km. Hole NT-083 cut a 14.3-metre wide zone with two high grade intercepts - 343.0 g/t over 0.6 metres and 33.80 g/t over 0.5 metres. Hole NT-084 intersected 6.76 g/t over 3.0 metres including 13.9 g/t over 1.0. Hole NT-080 returned 1.18 g/t over 32.0 metres including 10.91 g/t over 1.0 metre.

The latest results are said to highlight the high grade potential of the hinge zone, particularly over a strike length of 450 metres. The zone has "many of the earmarks" of the High Grade zone at Goldcorp's Red Lake mine 27 km to the southeast, according to Confederation.
