ONTARIO - KODIAK EXPLORATION of Vancouver has uncovered a large alteration system at its Knucklethumb Lake project in Northwestern Ontario. Called the Vent, this new discovery is a complex area of felsic intrusive and fragmental rocks expressed as an elliptical aeromagnetic low. The system is 3 km long and between 400 and 700 metres wide. The zone is characterized by extremely high silver/gold ratios.
Channel samples have been taken, and Kodiak is beginning to publicize the assay results. The best values so far are 2.68 g/t Au over 0.62 metres, 1.01 g/t Au over 1.66 metres, and 107 g/t Ag plus 0.59% Cu over 0.44 metre. Further stripping and diamond drilling has been recommended for Vent.
