RED SUCKER LAKE, Man. Drill core from the Monument Bay project, in the northeast corner of the province, has assayed up to 180 g/t Au over 1 m in hole 03-105. BEMA GOLD is earning a 70% interest in this joint venture with WOLFDEN RESOURCES.

A total of 12 holes have been drilled and results have been received from eight holes. Bema says the results have identified a new mineralized horizon, called C zone, in the Twin Lakes West zone. This ore shoot has a strike length of 170 m and a vertical extent from 50 m to 130 m, and is open at depth. Bema is adding a third drill rig at the project.

Previous drilling on the Monument Bay property uncovered a high-grade resource of 300,000 oz Au with an average grade of 18.5 g/t.

Bema has earned a 51% interest in the project. It is exercising its option for an additional 19% by spending an additional $3 million at Monument Bay.
