RED LAKE, Ontario The latest drill results from the Swain-Sol d'Or property in the Red Lake-Birch Uchi belt confirms the presence of a new zone of mineralization. The claims are owned by FRONTEER DEVELOPMENT GROUP and optioned to RED LAKE RESOURCES, both of Vancouver.
Four diamond drill holes totaling 658.48 m were completed, and intersected new zones of gold mineralization within sulphide-silica alteration. Drilling targeted gold surface showings, gold-arsenic soil geochemical anomalies, and a broad structural deformation zone (the Sol d'Or gold trend). The zone appears to have a strike of over 4.0 km and is up to several hundred metres wide. This newly-discovered and extensive gold-bearing target has had no historical drilling along its strike length and represents a pristine and significant development in the belt.
The Cliff Showing, where surface grab samples yielded gold values up to 5.94 g/t and soil samples analyzed over 2 g/t Au, was the target of two holes. One yielded 6.0 m of 1.91 g/t Au including a 4.5-m interval assaying 2.26 g/t Au. The second tested the down-dip extension of the first and intersected three intervals of gold mineralization including 1.24 g/t Au over 2.5 m, 1.15 g/t over 0.70 m and 0.47 g/t over 1.50 m.
Both companies are encouraged by these results. Complete hole assays, drawings and maps can be viewed at www.redlakeresources.com (click on News Releases) or go to www.fronteergroup.com.
