VAL D'OR, Quebec Drilling at the Midway gold property, 16 km west of this city, continues to encounter significant gold mineralization, according to NORTHERN STAR MINING. The current program consists of about 30,000 ft of drilling between the two production shafts of the old Malartic Goldfields mining complex.

Drill core from new discoveries on the property returned assays including 0.215 opt Au over 15.7 ft, 0.068 opt Au over 28.6 ft, 0.031 opt Au over 6 ft, 0.05 opt Au over 4.5 ft, and 0.046 opt Au over 6.1 ft. More results from the five holes of the most recent program are posted at www.nsmgold.com in the Press Releases.

Vancouver-based Northern Star holds 100% of the Midway project, which straddles the Cadillac Break. Known gold zones have demonstrated continuity between 1,000 and 1,200 ft and are open at depth. There is a 2,700-ft shaft on the Midway project, and it is suitable for future access and development purposes.

Historic reports put probable resources at 420,504 tons grading 0.201 opt Au and possible geological resources at 451,943 tons grading 0.16 opt Au.
