TIMMINS, Ontario Recent drilling at the Thorne gold property, 100%-owned by BAND-ORE RESOURCES of Burlington, Ont., has drilled core assaying as high as 15.9 g/t over 2.7 metres. The same hole (GW-03-17) returned its highest value of 9.59 g/t Au over 4.5 metres. In addition, five other holes encountered gold mineralization in highly altered sediments and porphyry.

In January 1998, an independent mining consultant estimated that the Thorne property contains an inferred resource of 4 million tonnes grading 3 g/t Au. The mineralization is contained in an alteration/deformation zone call the Golden River Deformation zone. It is similar in structure to other gold deposits near Timmins. Core samples from earlier holes may be viewed at www.band-ore.com in the Thorne photo gallery.
