YUKON – ATAC Resources of Vancouver continues to drill good grades at its Rackla gold project 55 km northeast of Keno City. Work has been focused on the Conrad and Isis East zones in the Nadaleen trend at the eastern end of the property.

The best grade was returned from the Conrad zone, 18.44 g/t Au over 42.93 metres. That zone also returned 4.68 g/t over 56.93 and 4.45 g/t over 25.44 metres. The Isis East zone returned 7.28 g/t Au over 27.43 metres.

Geological modelling of 2011 drill holes identified a large scale anticline fold. At the crest of the anticline, characteristic Carlin-type hydrothermal alteration, consisting of decalcification and silicification accompanied by the arsenic sulphide mineral realgar, is focused along the contact of limestone with an overlying shaly siltstone cap unit. At or near surface mineralization is consistently thicker with higher gold grades than that previously encountered.

The company calls Rackla the only Carlin-type gold discovery in Canada, and it is the 100% owner of the property.
