QUEBEC - Exploration is going underground to extract a bulk sample from the Russian Kid gold project, 35 km west of Rouyn-Noranda. MIRABEL RESOURCES of Montreal purchased the property at the end of May 2005 from GLOBEX MINING (which retains a 5% net metal royalty).
Mirabel has hired INDUSTRIAL GROUP to perform the work, which includes dewatering and rehabilitating underground access to the former mine. The property has a 320-ft, two-compartment shaft, a 2,700-ft ramp and three levels (140, 300 and 425 ft). Non-NI 43-101-compliant historical resources are estimated to be 1.12 million tons grading 0.247 opt Au.
Mirabel is interested in using its exclusive thermal fragmentation technology for cost-effective narrow-vein mining of the deposit. Information about this method is available at www.RessourcesMirabel.com.
