QUEBEC - ROCMEC MINING of Pointe Claire, Quebec, has signed a contract for the treatment of gold ore from its Russian Kid gold mine, on the Ontario-Quebec border, in the Camflo mill located in Malartic. The mill is owned by RICHMONT MINES of Montreal.

The Camflo mill will treat approximately 40,000 tonnes from the bulk sampling program currently underway at the mine. The ore will come from drift development and longhole or shrinkage stopes, and be fed through the mill in 10,000-t batches. Rocmec plans to stockpile an additional 7,500 tonnes of high-grade material extracted by thermal fragmentation, or it may be shipped directly to a refinery.

An explanation of Rocmec's thermal fragmentation process is available at www.RockmecMines.com.
