QUEBEC The second fatality in less than two months has been reported from AGNICO-EAGLE MINES' LaRonde gold mine near Cadillac. The accident happened on Sunday, March 28, in a storage area as the employee was loading steel wire mesh. He was killed when the mesh tipped over and crushed him against the machinery he was operating.
The previous fatality occurred on Feb. 4, 2004. A contractor's employee was killed in an explosion.
