QUEBEC - ROCMEC MINING of Montreal and its partner CONSOLIDATED BIG VALLEY RESOURCES of Vancouver are pleased to announced the pouring of the first gold button at their Granada mill, south of Rouyn-Noranda. The 5.7-kg button was poured on Aug. 31, 2006; it was approximately 70% Au.

The Granada mill is located close to Rocmec's Rocmec I (Russian Kid) gold property and is equipped with the Merrill-Crowe system. The mill will primarily process ore from the Rocmec I property. As mill start-up continues, throughput currently averages 10 tonnes/hour.

Rocmec is investigating several other properties in northwestern Quebec. A map of them is available at www.RocmecMines.com.
