QUEBEC - The old Sigma gold mine near Val d'Or is back in commercial production, thanks to CENTURY MINING of Blaine, Washington. Treatment of a 250,000-tonne bulk sample yielded 20,000 oz of gold for the company, but full-scale production was delayed by the length of time needed to secure mining equipment.
Century anticipates producing about 115,000 oz of gold annually over the first six years of operation. The mill has a capacity of 5,000 tonnes/day.
