ONTARIO - PELANGIO MINES of Toronto reports that the former Detour Lake mine property has an indicated resource of 20.0 million tonnes grading 2.14 g/t Au containing 1.38 million oz of gold, and an inferred mineral resource of 35.4 million tonnes grading 1.8 g/t Au containing 2.04 million oz.
The geological model has been revised and expanded to include results from the 2005 and 2006 drill programs. The new estimate included mineralization in the walls and sills of the historic mine workings, which was not included in last year's resource estimate. It is also based on the concept of large-scale open pit mining, but will utilize smaller scale blasts and mining equipment in some areas to assist in achieving projected grades. The revised geological model covers more than twice the strike length and vertical height of the 2005 model.
