Gradall Industries is unveiling its new XE 4100 excavator at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, offering a slightly lighter machine that retains popular performance capabilities and comes priced without tariffs to fit state, county, municipal and specialty contractor budgets. The XE 4100 6x4 mirrors the productivity and versatility of Gradall’s XL 4100 Series I while reducing costs, and it provides a similar 27-foot boom reach, 20-foot dig depth and a telescoping boom that rotates 220 degrees.
The CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 will be March 3-7, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada. More information is available here.
The machine handles precise grading, ditching, excavation, landscaping, vegetation control and demolition of curbs, sidewalks and culverts without outriggers, and its low-profile boom operates efficiently under bridges and trees where conventional excavators cannot fit.
The XE 4100 incorporates many features from Gradall Series V models, including a Volvo engine, advanced Bosch Rexroth high-pressure hydraulics and electric joystick controls compatible with Gradall, Deere or SAE patterns. A new remote repositioning system allows operators to reposition the machine from either the carrier or upper cab using an Allison-approved transmission application to ensure smooth, dependable performance and simplified serviceability.
From the carrier cab, the excavator can reach highway speeds of 60 mph for quick travel to jobsites without a lowboy trailer, and from the upper cab the carrier can be repositioned on a jobsite or along a ditch at 7 mph.
The XE 4100 weighs 45,900 pounds, about 4,000 pounds less than the XL 4100 Series V, largely due to a smaller counterweight and a 6-inch reduction in tail swing, while retaining boom force geometry, balance, stability and roadability comparable with the XL 4100 Series I. Optional equipment includes an AM/FM radio, work lights and auxiliary hydraulic plumbing, and both cabs come standard with heat and air conditioning. Standard attachments include a range of buckets, a tree limb shear and a fixed thumb grapple.
Gradall manufactures its excavators entirely in the U.S. and sells them tariff-free, reinforcing the XE 4100’s built-in cost advantages over machines built partly or entirely offshore.
