FINLAND METSO MINERALS of Helsinki has been awarded a contract worth Cdn$14.8 million to supply grinding mills to Minas de Aguas Tenidas, the Spanish subsidiary of Toronto-based PGM VENTURES. The Aguas Tenidas base metal development is located in the southwestern part of the country.

PGM says the new mill will have a total capacity of 800,000 tonnes/year in each of the zinc and copper circuits. Metso will supply two 1,100-kW, 5.5-m-diam by 2.4-m SAG mills; two 1,100-kW, 3.6-m-diam by 6.2-m ball mills; six 355-kW, 2.7-m-diam by 3.2-m tertiary mills; two regrind mills of the same size; and one 185-kW, 2.3-m-diam by 2.0-m regrind mill. The mill is slated for commissioning in the first quarter of 2008.
