QUEBEC -- CENTURY MINING of Blaine, Wash., has agreed to purchase four new 100-t, HD785-5LC Komatsu haul trucks for its Sigma gold mine near Val d'Or. The $5.75 million deal was arranged with KOMATSU INTERNATIONAL (CANADA). The price includes tires and commissioning.

The first two trucks will be delivered in June and the remaining two in July, allowing part of the old fleet to be retired. Complete truck specifications are available at www.Komatsu.ca.

Century Mining reopened the Sigma open pit mine in February 2005. The company plans to mill 5,000 tonnes/day of ore having a head grade of 2.1 g/t Au. Recovery is expected to be 96%. The Sigma mill also treats ore from the nearby Lamaque pit. Average annual gold production for the first six years of operation is estimated to be 90,000 oz at a cash cost of approximately US$325/oz.
