Last week we asked our readers whether or not they welcome Chinese investment in Canada's resource industry. It seems our readers are almost evenly divided on the subject. Those who would not be comfortable with such a scenario represented about 47% of the votes. But when it comes to throwing open the doors to Chinese investment, only 14% would do so unconditionally. A significant proportion, 39%, would be comfortable with Chinese investment only if there were limits placed on foreign control of Canadian mining companies.
