HOT TOPIC: Which merger would have been better?

Think for a minute of the original merger proposal made in 2005, that of Inco and Falconbridge. Would the outcome have been better for the Sudbury community if that had taken place rather than Falconbridge-Xstrata and Inco-Vale? Would deals with a US company have had a better outcome than with the Europeans and Brazilians?
