PRAIRIEVILLE, Louisiana A new bin level indicator, the Model KP from K-TEK CORP., is a strong paddle switch that comes with all available features and options at a price 15% less than comparable switches. The new indicator is reliable and cost-effective in a large number of applications that involve measuring and controlling the contents of bulk solids within bins, silos and other vessels.
The KP also has the industry's first screw-off cover, which speeds installation and maintenance.
The KP bin level indicator uses a low-speed (1 rpm), low-torque, synchronous motor which, unlike paddle switches that stop and start, eliminates moisture condensation. The motor also runs in a restricted or completely stalled state without damage or overheating. The safety clutch protects the motor gearing by absorbing sudden shocks. It may be mounted either vertically or horizontally, and drop-in paddles are available for different product densities from 10 lb/ft3 to 75 lb/ft3 (such as coal) up to 105 lb/ft3 (foundry sand). The KP indicator operates in temperatures from 40F to +248F. It is available with either 120 or 240 V AC compatibility; and options such as explosion-proof housings are available.
