QUEBEC - CAMPBELL RESOURCES of Montreal now has 100% ownership in the soon-to-be-reopened Copper Rand mine near Chibougamau. Campbell bought out partners Solidarity Fund QFL, SGF Mines and the Socit de dveloppement de la Baie James by issuing a total of 1.95 million shares to each of them.
The Copper Rand mine is now in pre-production. The first ore was hoisted Oct. 18 and the first concentrate was shipped to Noranda's Horne smelter on Nov. 23. The pre-production phase will continue with commercial production to begin in the early part of the first quarter of 2005.
