Joseph van Bastelaar, founder of Romarco Minerals, tendered his resignation as president and CEO effective Oct. 11. He will continue to serve as chairman of the company. The board appointed Diane Garrett as Romarco's new president and CEO. She holds a PhD in mineral economics and brings to her new job 10 years of senior management experience at several public mining companies. Romarco has is adding four independent members to its board; they are: Robert van Doorn (mining consultant), R.J. Don MacDonald (VP and CFO of Forbes Medi-Tech Inc.), Leendert G.
