Gregory C. Wilkins has been appointed president and CEO of BARRICK GOLD CORP., replacing Randall Oliphant. Wilkins began his career with Barrick in 1981, but left his position as CFO of Barrick in 1993 to become president and COO of HORSHAM CORP., a publicly listed company that was then the controlling shareholder of Barrick. Horsham later became TRIZECHAHN CORP.

INTER-CITIC MINERAL TECHNOLOGIES has appointed David G. Wahl as its new VP of mineral project development. Wahl brings over 30 years of experience in mineral exploration and development to the position. Inter-Citic's focus is on mineral properties in the Peoples Republic of China.

Neil Dawson, an Australian metallurgist, has joined TITANIUM CORP. as a consultant. His duties include overseeing the company's bench scale plant at Dalhousie University in Halifax.

Codelco has named a new head of its CODELCO NORTH unit, Nelson Pizarro. He will be responsible for the Chuquicamata and Radomiro Tomic mines.

Stephen A.W. Knapp is the new executive director of the CANADIAN COPPER & BRASS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION. He succeeds Arnold Knapp who is retiring after 43 years with the association.

HINTERLAND METALS of Vancouver has appointed Mark Fekete president and CEO following the resignation of Andrew Lee Smith. Smith will remain on the board as a non-executive director.
