ABER DIAMOND CORP. of Toronto has appointed John M. Willson to its board of directors. Formerly chairman of the World Gold Council, he retired as president and CEO of Placer Dome in 2000. Willson has a MSc in Mining Engineering from the Royal School of Mines, London University.

Dr. Glenn Brown, adjunct professor at the Lassonde Program in Mineral Engineering at the University of Toronto, has been named to the board of Vancouver-based BRAZILIAN DIAMONDS LTD.

GAMMON LAKE RESOURCES of Dartmouth, N.S., has put together the team that will develop and operate its Ocampo gold/silver mine in Mexico. John Thornton, formerly of Mintec Inc. is the new COO. John Roberts receives a promotion to chief mining engineer. Richard Jeffress has joined Gammon Lake as manager of projects at Ocampo.

McAleenan is chairman and CEO. Former chairman Frank Crerie has stepped aside. Thomas I.A. Allen will continue as vice-chair. Cyrus Ameli is the new VP communications.
