ABERDEEN INTERNATIONAL of Toronto has appointed former federal cabinet minister Hon. Pierre Pettigrew to its board of directors.

Tony George has become the COO of Toronto-based AURA GOLD. Separately, Aura Gold president and CEO Patrick Downey has joined the board of Vancouvers NOVAGOLD RESOURCES.

DIAMONDEX RESOURCES of Vancouver has invited Alex Davidson to join its board. He is a holder of the CIMs A.O. Dufresne Award and the PDACs Prospector of the Year Award. He represents Barricks interests on the Diamondex board.

Dave Keough will be the new executive VP and COO of Halifax-based GAMMON LAKE RESOURCES beginning July 3, 2007. He will oversee the exploration, evaluation and advancement of the exciting Guadalupe y Calvo exploration project in Mexico.

HUDBAY MINERALS of Winnipeg has named Brad Lantz its VP mining to replace Mining Division president Russell Rood who retires later this summer.

PLATMIN LIMITED of Toronto has named a new COO, Terence Holohan who was recently senior VP and COO for Ivanhoe Nickel and Platinum.

The new chairman and CEO of Vancouver-based RAINY RIVER RESOURCES is Nelson Baker. He will continue to serve as president of the company, as well.

Robert Quartermain, president of Silver Standard Resources of Vancouver, has been named the president of the Washington, D.C.-based SILVER INSTITUTE.
