Toronto's Adex Mining has asked interim president and CEO Errol Farr to accept the position permanently. Alan Marshall has been appointed chairman, and William C. Burton as CFO. The company hopes to develop the Mount Pleasant polymetallic project in New Brunswick.

 

Michael F. Shaw has been promoted to COO at Baja Mining of Vancouver. He joined the company in August 2007 as VP construction and engineering. Shaw was formerly a project director at Newmont Mining.

 

Cameco Corp. has elected two new board members – Jim Gowans and Donald Deranger. Gowans is the president and CEO of De Beers Canada, the chair of the Mining Association of Canada and president of the CIM. Deranger is the vice-chief of the Prince Albert Grand Council as well as president of Points Athabasca Contracting and an advisor to the Athabasca Basin Development Corp.

 

Robert Eadie is the new president of Vancouver-headquartered Golden Predator Royalty & Development Corp. He is currently president and CEO of several small Canadian mining companies.

 

Following its recent business combination with Skybridge Development, Mega Silver of Toronto has named Jim Rogers president and CEO, replacing Kenneth Carter. Rogers was recently regional exploration manager for Goldcorp in the red Lake, ON, gold camp. Steven Filipovic has replaced Robert Evans and CFO.
