AGNICO-EAGLE MINES of Toronto has made several recent promotions. Donald Allan becomes senior VP corporate development, Alain Blackburn is now senior VP of exploration. David Garofalo becomes senior VP finance and CFO, and the new general counsel, senior VP legal and corporate secretary is Greg Laing.

Alan Cramm has joined ANACONDA GOLD of Toronto as the general manager of its Pine Cove project, which is to begin production in 2007.

Toronto-based GOLDCORP has given the job of COO to Steve Reid, who was formerly the company's executive VP for U.S. and Canadian operations. Chuck Jeannes is now executive VP of corporate development. Jim Voorhees, formerly COO of Glamis Gold, and Russell Barwick, former COO and executive VP, are leaving the company. All changes become effective on Jan. 1, 2007.

KIRKLAND LAKE GOLD, headquartered in the town of the same name in northern Ontario, has been informed that its geologists Mike Sutton and Stewart Carmichael have been named Prospectors of the Year for 2006 by the ONTARIO PROSPECTORS ASSOCIATION. The award recognizes their role in the discovery of a new system of high-grade sulphide-hosted gold zones south of the historic quartz vein Main Break in the Kirkland Lake Camp.

John Kearney has been named the new president and CEO of Montreal's SULLIDEN EXPLORATION. Javier Fernandez-Concha Stucker is now VP of the company as well as president of its South American subsidiaries. The new exploration manager for South America is Marco Murazzi. Additionally, Jacques Trottier has been named deputy chairman.
