Matt Manson has been named interim president and CEO at Vancouver's ASHTON MINING. He will oversee the completion of Ashton's amalgamation with a subsidiary of Stornoway Diamond Corp. He replaces Robert T. Boyd, who resigned on Dec. 20.

Robin Adair has been appointed VP exploration of COASTPORT CAPITAL, DONNER METALS and KNIGHT RESOURCES, all of Vancouver. He had over 25 years experience working with Falconbridge and Noranda.

Toronto-headquartered GOLD EAGLE MINES, created by the recent merger of Exall Resources and Southern Star Resources, has given the position of president and CEO to Simon Lawrence, a graduate of the Camborne School of Mines, Cornwall, U.K. The company also announced it has made Brent Peters, a graduate of Brock University, its CFO. The two men have been made directors, joining Stephen G. Roman, Rob Cudney, Terry MacGibbon, Douglas Scharf, Derek Rance and Tom Pladsen.

PUREPOINT URANIUM GROUP of Toronto has appointed a new director, Scott Frostad, a veteran of environmental affairs at the Cluff Lake and McClean Lake uranium mines. At the same time the company announced that Christopher Rich is now chairman, replacing Peter Hooper who has resigned.
