Lukas Lundin is now president of Vancouver-based ATACAMA MINERALS. He succeeds Richard Clark who resigned on Jan. 19. The company operates the Aguas Blancas iodine mine in Chile.

David E. Blann has joined BISHOP GOLD of Vancouver as its VP of exploration. His duties will include supervision of the company's programs at the Lawyers Group properties in the Toodoggone region of British Columbia.

GEKKO SYSTEMS of Australia has named Tim Hughes its new R&D manager. Prior to joining Gekko, Hughes was employed by MPI Mines as co-ordinator of its capital investment program.

Dr. George H. Gale, well known in Canadian geological circles, has joined Vancouver's RARE EARTH METALS as VP of exploration. Based in Manitoba, Gale will oversee the company's 2005 drill programs at Assean Lake (gold), Eden Lake (IOCG, uranium and rare earth elements), and South Bay (nickel).

Here is another newly-appointed VP of exploration: Thomas Pollock at Vancouver-based VALGOLD RESOURCES. He joined ValGold three years ago and was most recently the company's manager and qualified person for the exploration and development of the Tongchanggou copper/gold project and other projects within China.
