Atacama Minerals Corp. has a new management team. It includes Richard Clark as CEO, Simon Jackson as president, Kevin Ross as COO, Hugh Stuart as VP exploration and Alessandro Bitelli as CFO. The gentlemen previously managed Red Back Mining until it was taken over by Kinross Gold.

Toronto-based Detour Gold has named Drew Anwyll as director of operations at its Detour Lake gold mine development. He was most recently manager of operations at the Gold Ridge gold mine, and before that worked many years for Barrick Gold and Placer Dome. He has worked at both the Dome and Campbell mines in Ontario as well as the Porgera mine in Papua New Guinea and the South Deep in South Africa.

Dave Parker is stepping down from his role as president of Finning International's Canadian operations. The duties will be taken up by Andy Fraser, currently executive VP, power system and global business development. Fraser's career spans over 30 years with Finning.

Premier Gold Mines of Thunder Bay, ON, announced the retirement of Tim Twomey as VP exploration at the end of the year. The company has hired Brian Morris to replace Twomey. Morris will guide Premier's US-based operations until later this year.

The new president and CEO of Vancouver's Sabina Gold & Silver will be Rob Pease, effective Nov. 14, 2011. He is a founder of Terrane Metals until it was acquired by Thompson Creek Mining.
