BLACK PEARL MINERALS of Vancouver has named Judy Baker its new president and a director. The company is bulk sampling a gold property near Snow Lake, Man.

Jean Lafleur, a board member of Toronto-based BONAVENTURE ENTERPRISES, has accepted the role of president and CEO of the company. He takes over from Basil Pantages, who becomes chairman of the board. Lafleur has worked in Canada and internationally for companies including Newmont, Falconbridge and Placer Dome.

ELORO RESOURCES of Toronto has hired Jeff Hussey as VP exploration. Martin Bourgoin is becoming executive VP.

Douglas Whitehead, president and CEO of Finning International, has accepted an invitation to join the board of Toronto-based INMET MINING.

The new senior VP operations at MARSULEX of Toronto is Keith D. McLeod. His background is in chemical manufacturing.

Vancouvers RARE ELEMENT RESOURCES has named Dr. Donald E. Ranta as president and CEO. He successfully led exploration efforts, resulting in the discovery or acquisition, and evaluation of several major ore deposits in the United States and Mexico.

ST ANDREW GOLDFIELDS of Oakville, Ont., has named Jacques Perron its new president and CEO. Glenn Laing is stepping down from these positions but will remain on the board. Perron was recently in charge of Cambiors Canadian and South American operations. Former Cambior president and CEO, Louis Gignac, has also joined the board at St Andrew.

Dr. Trevor Boyd is now VP exploration at TRIBUTE MINERALS of Toronto.
