Colin Benner is taking up a new post as vice-chairman and CEO of Vancouver-based EUROZINC MINING on Dec. 24. He is stepping down from the helm of Toronto-based BREAKWATER RESOURCES effective Dec. 23. Until a search committee can find a replacement, current chairman Garth A.C. MacRae will assume the responsibilities of Breakwater's president and CEO.

EQUINOX MINERALS of Toronto has engaged Harry Michael as its COO at the Lumwana copper project in Zambia. The Lumwana open pit will be developed to recover measured and indicated resources of 269 million tonnes averaging 0.8% Cu. An additional inferred resource of 632 million tonnes grading 0.6% Cu is estimated.

There are two new additions to the executive of Vancouver's GROUNDSTAR RESOURCES. Charles M. Gryba has been named president, and Kam A. Fard has been appointed VP operations. Both men will sit on the company's board of directors.

Vancouver-based CANALASKA VENTURES has named a new manager of uranium exploration, Dr Karl Schimann. His successful track record at the Cigar Lake and McClean Lake mines will be appreciated as CanAlaska expands its activity in the Athabasca Basin.
