Former federal cabinet minister David Emerson has been named to the board of Vancouver-based Finning International, the world's largest Caterpillar dealer. He is also CEO an chairman of the B.C. Transmission Corp. and has held executive positions with Canfor Corp, the Vancouver International Airport Authority, and Canadian Western Bank.

 

Toronto's Frontera Copper has appointed Hugh Snyder its new chairman. He is a co-founder of the company and was previously lead director. Dr. Patrick Ryan has retired as chairman but will remain on the board.

 

Ilene Gordon, president and CEO of Alcan Packaging, has been named Best Executive by the Stevie Awards for Women in Business. The award recognizes individual women for their accomplishments during the past year. Alcan Packaging is a division of Rio Tinto Alcan of Montreal.
